As you know, we have said Ultimate ADOM will be a modern reimagining of rogue-like gameplay. And what’s more rogue-like and modern than battle royale games?
We tried out various things to make Ultimate ADOM more attractive and approachable to a new player audience. A brief research has shown that you all love Battle Royale games as much as we do.
Select your server, ready your weapon or spell of choice and duke it out in randomly generated dungeons in our online-only server environment.
As common with this kind of games, you will be able to outfit your character comfortably with your credit card. Will you claim the title “fanciest @-symbol of the dungeon”, or will you let your enemies have this?
Find out soon with Ultimate ADOM – the Battle Royale edition.
Cheeky Creator…
Hmm. April 1st posting….
April Fools 😉 But that 3D mode would be great in a roguelike. 😀
You’ll be delighted to learn that this is actually in-game graphic – not final yet, but it’s getting pretty close.
ADOM Deluxe had a first person mode. It was… interesting. But needed work.
I think that a first person mode could be entertaining if done well.
Take a look at Barony on Steam. It’s a first person Roguelike that’s quite good.
I think the main issue with ADOM in first person is simply the complexity. It’s not a simple hack and slash, so there’s a ton of things to constantly be tracking (especially your surroundings) which can be hard.
